

Gildo Espada
Mr. Gildo Manuel Espada is a Lawyer with 18 years of experience in the development of laws, policies and regulations in Mozambique. Mr. Espada is an Auxiliary Professor at the Faculty of Law of Eduardo Mondlane University, where he teaches environmental Law. And co- founder of law firm, Mafundza e Espada-Advogados

Mr. Gildo Espada holds a Ph.D. degree and is a specialist in Water Law, which is his area of specialization as researcher, having written both in his graduate, Master’s and Ph.D. thesis in issues related to national and international water law. This factor provides Mr. Espada with extensive knowledge of the water and sanitation sub-sector in Mozambique. Being a specialist in the field of Law, he is member of the team responsible for training Mozambique’s Permanent Secretaries of all Government Ministries staff, in Environmental Law, Legislation Drafting and Implementation, since 2008. He also oversees training of the nation's judges, prosectors, district/ provincial and national staff, rangers and community leaders on conservation law and human rights.

In the SADC region, Mr. Espada has been training members of the Zambezi and Okavango river basins on the application of the SADC Water protocol. Mr. Gildo Espada is registered in the Mozambique Bar Associations and is one of Mozambique's leading experts on the laws governing conservation areas and human rights.
