NATURA Partners with Rio Save Safaris

NATURA and Rio Save Safaris (RSS) have signed a collaborative agreement to

coordinate and work together across the 3,800 km2 RSS concession in the Macossa Ecosystem. NATURA will help raise the funding and help manage and implement strengthened programs benefiting both communities and ecosystems. These include promoting human-wildlife coexistence and reducing conflicts, supporting technical and professional development of law enforcement sectors, and reinforcing biodiversity outcomes and performance monitoring.

Paired with the 4,800km2 NATURA concession bordering RSS, the Macossa Ecosystem is the size of parks as famous as Yellowstone in the USA and South Luangwa in Zambia. Lions, elephants, leopard and a myriad of species range across this landscape across the shared borders of the concessions that encompass a vast Miombo forest.

Collaboration and coordination between NATURA and RSS will accelerate the protection of biodiversity and work with the many communities depend on this ecosystem for their survival.
